Holiday Club

Open 8am to 6pm every school holiday

Let the fun begin!

The Kidsclub Holiday Club is open every school holiday (with the exception of bank holidays and a few days between Christmas and New Year) from 8 am to 6 pm for children aged 2 to 11 years, from St Gregory’s School, Nursery, Pre-School and other local schools.

The club can be used regularly or occasionally, dependant on how you book your child’s place.  It is run by the same experienced and qualified staff who your child will have met in other areas of the setting. They endeavour to create a friendly, welcoming environment for the children and their carers. We believe that every child is entitled to good quality care and that school holidays especially should be fun, fun, fun!

We understand that many parents cannot take school holidays away from work so we try to give the children the feeling that school holidays are different. After the structured activities of term time, we offer the children a chance to try out new skills, experiences and to do as much or little as they want to do. We encourage time with friends and help them develop friendships with new children. Each day or week has a focus or theme. These plans are released to parents a month before the holiday to enable them to choose the days that their child is most interested in joining. This also ensures that children who are at Kids’ Club every day throughout a holiday have different experiences each day too. During the holidays, enjoyment is a priority when planning in activities and we try to include active and quiet, indoor and outdoor activities each day to help your child stay healthy. Occasionally, we invite specialist coaches in to develop more specific sporting skills and we also plan day trips to different places both near and far. We aim to ensure that the club reflects and meets the needs of the local community and incorporates equal opportunities into all areas of our work.

How does it work?

The club is open in two half-day sessions which can be booked separately or as a whole day.

The children should arrive via the main school entrance and be signed in. Any child arriving before 8.30 am will be given a substantial breakfast (see breakfast club menu information). They will then set about their activities. Children have healthy snacks throughout the day and any child who is at the club after 5pm will be given a more substantial tea.  As in Afterschool Club, menus rotate on a five-week rota. These are posted in the foyer. They can be adapted to special dietary needs.

All children should bring a packed lunch which the children eat picnic-style. Children should be signed out when they’re collected.  You must let us know in advance if a relative or friend will be collecting them, as we cannot release a child to an adult not listed on the registration form.  We must ensure that your child is safe.

“Our holiday club provides your children with a safe and supportive environment that is focused on fun. We’ll make sure they have lots of exciting things to do. During the school holidays they will take part in sports activities with our resident coach, dive into the world of Harry Potter or take part in a medieval feast. There is no time to be bored. We organise trips including bowling , wildlife parks, golf or the Sealife Centre to name but a few.”

Let’s work together

Children are able to give feedback to the staff daily. Ideas and comments are also shared in regular Child Voice sessions where representatives survey the members of the Kidsclub and take part in formal meetings with the leadership team. It is important for the children to feel that it’s their club because we want them to enjoy their time here. If they share any concerns with you, please do not hesitate to pass these onto the Trust Manager, Denise Arnold, to follow up.

Registration

To register your child for Kidsclub Holiday Club, please obtain a registration form from the table in the main foyer or on line.  Children may not attend the Club unless this has been completed in full and confirmation received.  A place is confirmed once the booking form has been signed and returned to you.
