Nursery

For children aged 2 or 3 years old.

Our nursery room is a vital space where children engage in educational play, before transitioning to the Pre-School room, prior to starting school in September. For many children, the nursery is their first experience being away from their primary caregiver. During this time, they develop essential self-help skills, learn how to share and take turns, and begin to navigate social interactions with their peers.

As children grow more independent and showcase their unique personalities, they also start building social skills and forming lifelong friendships. The curriculum followed in the nursery is aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), which continues until your child completes their Reception Year at school. The activities planned within the nursery take into account this curriculum, providing a structured approach that prepares your child for their initial steps into education.

Upon enrolment in our nursery, we understand the importance of creating a welcoming and supportive environment for all of our young learners. We believe that by providing a comfortable atmosphere, children are able to settle in more easily and gain the confidence they need to thrive. As part of this commitment, we have implemented a system where each child is assigned to a specific key group at the end of September. These key groups are called Ladybirds, Butterflies, Dragonflies and Bumblebees. Within each group, two dedicated key workers are assigned to supervise and support the children. These key workers alternate their schedules to ensure that consistent support is always available. We recognise the importance of building strong relationships between children and their key workers, which is why these assigned key workers remain with the children throughout their entire two-year journey with us. By doing so, we aim to create a sense of stability and familiarity, allowing children to form secure attachments and feel truly supported in their learning and development.
